Skysports.com understands Barnsley are closing in on the signing of Bristol City striker Danny Haynes.
City are willing to sell the former Ipswich forward as he is currently well down the pecking order at Ashton Gate.
A number of clubs were believed to be keen on landing the 22-year-old, but Barnsley are in pole position to sign Haynes.
Bristol City are thought to have agreed an undisclosed fee with Barnsley for Haynes and have given the player permission to open talks with the South Yorkshire club.
Tykes boss Mark Robins is keen to bolster his attacking options in this month's transfer window and he sees Haynes' arrival as a key addition to his squad.
