Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood insists speculation regarding his future will not affect him.
The Reds chief has found himself under mounting pressure of late following a disappointing start to the season.
Forest have won just two of their 10 Championship fixtures to date, leaving them bottom of the table and six points adrift of safety.
Understandably, the City Ground faithful have grown restless at the continued failings of their side, with much of their angst aimed towards the manager.
Reports have suggested that Calderwood may be on borrowed time but, despite the rumours, the Scot remains defiant and fully focused on a Saturday showdown with Barnsley.
Speculation
"I'm obviously aware there has been something in one or two of the papers but it's not so important to me in essence because I know what we've got to concentrate on - and that's Barnsley," he told the club's
official website.
"It's a case of continuing to do your job and feel that the group you've got will get you the result that will keep you in it.
"With our position in the league you've got to accept there will be that sort of speculation and if you look at the league table virtually everybody above us has changed their manager.
"I'd be foolish not to think that might happen but I knew that when I came into the job, so it doesn't overly concern me.
"I don't want it to happen and I think we can change it. All I'm concentrating on is the Barnsley game and trying to get a result."
Contracts
Meanwhile, Forest have handed new contracts to four of their promising young stars.
Joe Heath, Matt Thornhill, James Reid and Adam Newbold have all extended their stay at the City Ground after impressing Calderwood this term.
"The new contracts are a way of rewarding them for the progress they have made this season," said the Reds boss.
Forest have also recalled Brendan Moloney from a loan spell at Rushden & Diamonds, with the defender expected to be included in Calderwood's squad for the clash with Barnsley this weekend.
