Bristol City right back Mickey Bell has revealed a desire to extend his career with the League One club.

The former Wycombe Wanderers player is out of contract at the of the season, having penned a one-year deal with The Robins last summer.

The 33-year-old has struggled with his fitness this term, having endured persistent knee ligament problems earlier in the campaign.

Despite the setbacks, Bell is determined to prove his worth to player-manager Brian Tinnion and win a new contract at Ashton Gate.

"I desperately want to be here again next season, but it is out of my hands," Bell told the club's official website.

"I've told Brian I want to sign again, but I have had something of a stop-start season because of injury and need some good performances over the final games.

"Last season, I was able to show I was worth a contract and that is very much the aim again."
