Bristol City manager Brian Tinnion has revealed the club are preparing for life without defender Danny Coles.

The Robins rejected a £500,000 bid from Cardiff City last term, but have now decided to make the stopper available.

Tinnion is keeping Coles in his plans for now and will then use the funds raised to bolster his side's chances of winning promotion.

"For the good of Danny Coles' career it has been agreed that we release his name to Championship clubs," said Tinnion to the club's website.

"If we receive an acceptable offer for Danny then hopefully we can use the money coming in to strengthen the squad.

"This doesn't mean Danny will be sold immediately. We will wait and see whether any offers come in, but in the meantime he will remain a part of our playing squad."
