Bristol City were beaten 3-2 by a late Mark Hudson goal for Chesterfield.A horrible gaffe from Bristol City keeper Stephen Phillips handed Chesterfield a 3-2 win.
City had battled back from a two goal half-time deficit, after Mark Hudson and Wayne Allison gave the visitors a commanding lead inside the opening quarter of an hour.
Stephen Brooker and Jamie Smith looked to have handed City a share of the points, but Hudson's bobbling shot left Phillips with his head in his hands after it slipped from his grasp.
Hudson had opened the scoring inside the first minute when he lashed home after a fine run and cut-back from Caleb Folan.
A deflected Allison shot doubled Chesterfield's advantage, but Brooker made amends for a dreadful early miss to lash home a well constructed goal for The Robins.
A lovely build up gave City parity, with Smith slotting home superbly after good work from Marc Goodfellow.
It looked set to end all square, but Chesterfield were overjoyed when a mis-hit Hudson shot bobbled through Phillips's hands.
