Bell facing month out

Bristol City right back Mickey Bell faces a month out with knee ligament problems.

Bristol City right back Mickey Bell will be out for up to a month after breaking down with persistent knee ligament problems.

The 32-year-old, who signed a one-year contract extension with The Robins in the summer, has been struggling to overcome the injury he suffered in the club's final match of last season to Blackpool.

The injury forced him to miss last season's play-offs and despite making a substitute appearance this term against West Country rivals Swindon Town last month, Bell has been sidelined ever since.

Bell feared the injury problem would sideline for up to three months, but The Robins expect the former Wycombe Wanderers and Northampton Town player to be out for around four weeks.

"We've been easing him through training but he broke down again, so I reckon it will probably be weeks rather than days before he is back," said assistant manager Keith Millen.
