Bristol City goalkeeper Steve Phillips has signed a new deal with the club the ties him to Ashton Gate until the summer of 2007.
The 25-year-old has been in good form for the last couple of seasons and has agreed on a new three-year deal to start from the end of the current campaign.
Robins boss Danny Wilson is delighted that he has secured the services of Phillips for years to come.
"I'm delighted Steve has agreed the contract," said Wilson. "He's had a terrific last couple of seasons and established himself as a high quality goalkeeper."
City chairman Steve Lansdown had been involved in the negotiations with Phillips and was also overjoyed with the outcome.
"It is comforting to know that our number one player in such a specialist position is safely under contract for several seasons to come," Lansdown told the club website.
"I believe Steve will continue to be a lynchpin of the team, helping to take us forward, and it is another step towards achieving the stability we need to progress."
