CHELTENHAM TOWN have reached an agreement with Division Two side Bristol City to extend the loan deals of Kevin Amankwaah and Darren Jones for a second month.

Managers Bobby Gould and Danny Wilson have come to terms on loan extensions for Amankwaah and Jones, with the defensive duo having made a big impression since joining the Whaddon Road outfit last month.

Amankwaah (pictured) is happy to extend his stay in Gloucestershire and feels he needs even more first team experience with the Third Division club.

"I wanted to stay another month because I need first team football," Amankwaah told the club's official website.

"I don't want to go back to City and sit on the bench or in the stand when I can be doing a job for Cheltenham.

"It's been a good month here and I think the back four we have is starting to work together well."

Jones will hope his time with The Robins will lead to a call-up to the Welsh Under-21 side in the future, having spent time on loan last season with nearby Conference club Forest Green Rovers.
