BRISTOL CITY survived a few scares to grind out a 3-2 win over lowly Notts County and move up to third in Division Two.

Mark Stallard shot The Magpies into a 19th minute lead before gangly front-man Peter Beadle levelled for City with 33 minutes on the clock.

Scott Murray, who had been influential in the equaliser, then shot The Robins in front on 57 minutes.

Stallard grabbed his second of the match ten minutes from the end and looked to have stolen a point for the visitors.

However, three minutes later Lee Peacock struck the decisive goal to down County.
