BRISTOL CITY have completed a deal to sign former Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Mike Stowell.
The veteran shot-stopper, who was released by the Molineux outfit at the end of last season, has signed a two-year deal at Ashton Gate.
The 36-year-old, who was also being chased by Walsall and Blackpool, will assist in the coaching duties at the Second Division outfit.
Robins boss Danny Wilson was keen to bring in Stowell as cover for first choice for Stephen Phillips, as he is still without the injured Billy Mercer.
City chairman John Laycock was delighted to have agreed a deal for the keeper, who made over 400 appearances for Wolves during his ten years at Molineux.
"Mike is keen to get involved on the coaching side so there is a dual purpose in signing him," Laycock told the club's official website. "We're delighted he has agreed to join us."
