Scunthorpe manager Mark Robins has confirmed that defender David Mirfin will stay at Hartlepool for the rest of the season.
However, the Iron have inserted an instant recall clause into the deal in case they encounter defensive problems. The 29-year-old has impressed at the heart of Pools' defence, and Robins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "We have spoken to David and we will let him stay with Hartlepool. "He is keen to keep playing and at this moment in time it is important that he keeps playing games, although we will have an instant recall on him. "After his injury it was important that he got himself into a routine and rhythm again."
