Robins ready for January sales

Mark Robins has drawn up a January shopping list and told Scunthorpe chairman Peter Swann which players he wants to move on.

Robins has lost only one of 10 games in charge since being installed as Russ Wilcox's replacement in mid-October and Swann told the club's annual meeting that the former Rotherham, Barnsley and Huddersfield manager would have autonomy over how he shaped his squad. "I'll leave that to Mark Robins," Swann said. "He has presented a list of players he wants to go for, and identified who we'd like to ship out too. "Of course, it will be down to money to a point, but Mark has done superbly in his first 10 games and we both want to build for the future." The club are in talks with Isaiah Osbourne over keeping hold of the midfielder, whose current deal expires in January, but Swann was unable to put a timescale on the return of injured pair Dave Syers and Rory Fallon (both knee). Swann added the club expected to submit plans for their new stadium on January 7 and hope work will begin on the Lincolnshire Lakes project in May, with a view to moving into their new home in time for the start of the 2016/17 season.
