Scunthorpe are still waiting to learn the full extent of midfielder Isaiah Osbourne's hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old, who signed a short-term deal until January in October, was forced out of Sunday's FA Cup win at Forest Green and his absence could force the club into the loan market. "We're still waiting to hear how long it will be but he's got a problem with his hamstring so that's a blow, but we'll just see what happens," assistant manager David Kelly told the club's official website. "He's had a good impact on the team and that's why I think it's going to be a blow that he's going to be out for a while. "Hopefully it will be a shorter period than it could be, but it's always difficult to assess how long it's going to be so we're just hoping for the best case for him." Osbourne, a product of Aston Villa's academy, spent two years at Blackpool before his release in October. He has made five appearances for Scunthorpe. The Iron, without a fixture this weekend, are next in action at Crawley on November 22.
