Wilcox satisfied with win

Russ Wilcox was satisfied with Scunthorpe's 1-0 win over Frickley but feels there is a lot to work on ahead of the new season.

A goal from veteran forward Deon Burton was enough to earn the Iron victory in their penultimate pre-season friendly. Burton was one of only a handful of senior players involved in the game, with Wilcox opting to test some of his younger squad players. He was pleased with the performance but felt it should have been more convincing, saying: "The game was tight and hard work was made of it but you have to give Frickley a lot of credit for that. "They looked a better outfit than they did this time last season. They played 4-3-3 and gave us a few problems at times. It was a really good workout and I was disappointed we didn't get a few more goals."
