McAllister: We're ready

Sean McAllister is confident Scunthorpe are ready for League One after adding a few new faces to the core of last season's squad.

McAllister was named player of the season after the Iron finished second in the table behind Chesterfield and believes Russ Wilcox has bought well as they prepare for tougher challenges ahead. Summer signings Lyle Taylor, Neal Bishop and Jennison Myrie-Williams have all fitted in well and McAllister told the club's official website: "You can tell they've got quality on top of experience at League One level, so I think it's exactly what we needed. "We've also managed to keep the core of the squad together, which is important. Getting everyone signed up to new deals was essential and thankfully most have done so. Obviously, going into a new league is tough and we have to step it up again and be that little bit better. But we're a good unit and we believe we can do some good things here."
