Transfer news: League One and League Two clubs chasing Joe Anyon

Sky Sports understands former Shrewsbury goalkeeper Joe Anyon is being tracked by a number of clubs.

Anyon is a free agent after leaving Shrewsbury earlier this summer following the expiration of his contract.

The talented custodian broke into the Shrewsbury side at the back end of last season, making 11 appearances under the stewardship of manager Michael Jackson, but following the arrival of Micky Mellon all the out-of-contract players at the club were allowed to move on.

News of Anyon's availability on a free transfer has alerted a number of League One and League Two clubs with the 27-year-old having made over 200 appearances in his career to date.

Anyon, who almost moved to the Premier League with Fulham in 2007 only for a broken leg to halt the deal, is thought to be weighing up his options and hopes to resolve his future later this month.
