Scunthorpe boss Russ Wilcox felt his side had tossed two points away after they were held to a 3-3 draw by gutsy Dagenham.

The Iron looked to be in cruise control at 3-0 in front just past the hour mark but the Daggers responded with three late goals to earn an unlikely point.

Scunthorpe are now unbeaten in 11 league matches and have not been defeated on their travels since October, but that was of little comfort to Wilcox.

He said: "We just didn't manage the final 30 minutes well enough. It's been disappointing - definitely two points dropped.

"I'm not blaming the awful conditions, but we were being stretched far too much during that spell towards the end and we've conceded badly.

"However, we've also got to look at the positives. We'd worked hard in preparing for this game, and I suppose it's nice when you get some reward on a match-day.

"You could look back on it and both sides may feel they deserved to even go on and win, but we blew it towards the end of the game.

"I'm not going to be too harsh on the lads, though. They've given it everything and we've given it a good go against really tough opposition.

"Should we have done more? Maybe so, but we had to defend well as well don't forget - as we have to whenever we take to the field in this division.

"We just have to take as much heart and encouragement from this and go again in the next game."

Scunthorpe looked home and hosed after goals from Sam Winnall, Deon Burton and substitute Paul Hayes but Abu Ogogo's strike gave the Daggers hope before Chris Dickson and Luke Norris both climbed off the bench and got on the scoresheet.
