Scunthorpe defender Andy Dawson is proving a natural in his new coaching role at Glanford Park, according to manager Brian Laws.
Dawson signed a one-year player/coach's contract when he returned to Scunthorpe in May after spending a decade at Hull and has taken charge of the reserve team, who drew 0-0 with Rotherham on Tuesday.
"Andy's going to be a natural at it and that's one of the reasons why we asked him to come in and do it," Laws told the club's official website.
"It's his next progression after playing and he's enjoying it.
"It's ideal for him to come in and get used to the management and coaching side of things and he'll no doubt brush his experience onto some of the younger players."
