Scunthorpe manager Brian Laws has signalled his intent to further add to his squad before the start of the new season.
The Iron have already brought in five players after relegation from League One with Andy Dawson and Chris Iwelumo among the players arriving.
However, Laws' summer business is not yet complete.
"We don't have a huge squad, but we feel that it is coming together well," he told the club's official website.
"We are looking to bring a few more additions in, but that may not be until just before the season or even when the season starts.
"It could be the loan system that we use, but it depends on a few factors."
Scunthorpe's players returned for pre-season training on Thursday and start their pre-season programme against non-league Brigg Town on July 6.
Laws added: "We are going to make sure all the players are monitored and how many minutes they play.
"It's important that come the end of the six weeks, all of the players have had a couple of 90 minutes, it's important to do that and there are enough games to do that."
