Slocombe: Pressure all on U's

Scunthorpe's Sam Slocombe says the pressure is all on relegation rivals Colchester heading into the final game of the season.

Colchester drew 0-0 at home to Shrewsbury on Saturday, failing to secure the win they needed to guarantee their survival, while Scunthorpe's 1-0 victory at MK Dons leaves them three points adrift of the U's, albeit with an inferior goal difference. Victory for Scunthorpe at home against Swindon on Saturday coupled with defeat for Colchester at Carlisle could see Brian Laws' side pull off an unlikely escape act. "We've taken it to the last game, which is what we spoke about before the fixture," Slocombe told the club's official website. "I feel that Colchester will feel nervous now. "They'd have gone into the game knowing that a point would take them out of it and made them safe. But now they're going to spend the week thinking about that and it puts more pressure on them."
