Scunthorpe's Tom Newey feels the club's season could hinge on whether they can maintain their unbeaten run in League One.
The Iron, who slipped back into the bottom four at the weekend after being pegged back in a 1-1 draw at Carlisle, have gone four games without defeat, but cannot afford to let slip too many more points from winning positions if they are to climb away from relegation trouble. "It's important that we are on this unbeaten run, but January was claimed to be do or die," Newey told the club's official website. "The only thing is again that we've drawn so many games after being in winning positions, Saturday's and Oldham, but we should have also beaten Shrewsbury, which was 0-0. "Realistically we should have had 12 points from the last four games, which would have been well deserved, but we got seven instead." Newey, currently playing on the opposite flank to his more accustomed left-back role in the absence of the injured Christian Ribeiro, added: "There will be a lot of twists and turns during the run-in and there will be a number of teams that we bring into the battle for survival - for instance Oldham. "They have played a game more than us and are only a few points above us, so it is still very close there."
