Scunthorpe manager Brian Laws cut a frustrated figure after watching his struggling side go down 1-0 at leaders Tranmere.
Cole Stockton poached the only goal of the game after half-time to send Rovers back above Sheffield United at the League One summit. "We're disappointed because I thought we bossed the first half," said Laws. "It was nip and tuck in the second half, but that just shows that Tranmere had to change their style and formation to adapt," he said. "They couldn't penetrate through us - I thought we were very resilient. We passed well when we could, but there was nothing between the sides, which shows how open this league is. "The difference is that Tranmere took an opportunity which came their way, from a set-piece, which we were disappointed with as we could deal with it. "We had another bite of the cherry, but didn't react. They did, and that's the difference, mentality wise, between the top and the bottom. "It was a spirited performance, especially when you look at the injuries we have, but also the illnesses that's swept through the team, which was makeshift, so great credit to them. We were looking at players before the game and asking if they were alright."
