Port Vale have signed midfielder Sean McAllister on a free transfer, handing him an initial eight-week contract.
The 25-year-old has been a free agent since the summer, when he left Shrewsbury having helped them win promotion to League One. He has been training with Vale for the last fortnight and is in their squad for the League Two clash away to Southend on Saturday. McAllister began his career with Sheffield Wednesday and made over 60 league appearances for the Owls from 2006 to 2010.
