Scunthorpe United are poised to win the race to land American striker Mike Grella.
The 25-year-old is a free agent after opting to leave Bury at the end of the season, who he joined last term from Brentford.
A number of League One and League Two clubs have been tracking him, but now Scunthorpe look set to secure his signature.
Grella has already met manager Alan Knill and is hopeful of agreeing a deal to Glanford Park.
"I am waiting for my offer to be finalised and we should get it concluded," Grella told Sky Sports.
"But if not, I have other offers that will allow me to play and score goals, but hopefully that will be at Scunthorpe as I was very impressed with Alan Knill."
