Former Bristol City defender Christian Ribeiro has revealed that he would welcome the opportunity to return to Scunthorpe on a permanent basis this summer.
The Wales international was released by the Championship outfit after finding his first-team chances restricted at Ashton Gate.
However, the 22-year-old impressed during loan spells at Carlisle and Scunthorpe, making 10 appearances for the Iron in a two-month stint.
The versatile full-back told skysports.com that he is willing to be patient for the right club to signal their interest this summer.
"I enjoyed my time at Scunthorpe and the same applies at Carlisle as well, so they might well be interested, but I haven't personally spoken to them," said Ribeiro.
"It is very early days still and at the end of the day it depends which clubs are looking for a right-back.
"Money is tight nowadays and the squads, especially in League One, will be smaller, so it is all about finding a club that wants a right-back.
"I enjoyed both loan spells last season and I would definitely consider them should they wish to offer me something, but at the minute everyone is being a little cautious.
"It hasn't been too busy yet, but it is still early days.
"I was hoping to stay in the Championship, but I think that the possibility of that happening is unlikely.
League One
"So, it is probably going to be League One where I am heading and the play-offs are still ongoing in that division, so I didn't expect a great amount of activity at this stage.
"Once the transfer window opens and clubs have unveiled their retained lists then things might start to pick up a little.
"I'm quite relaxed about it at the moment and although I'd like something sorted sooner rather than later you've got to be prepared to wait."
