Wycombe hold Carlisle; Exeter slide closer to relegation

Carlisle were held to a 1-1 draw by Wycombe as Notts County beat Leyton Orient and Exeter's misery continued. With none of the top five taking to the field until Saturday, Good Friday's action centred on the relegation battle and pursuit of the final play-off spot. Sixth-placed Carlisle were denied a win at lowly Wycombe by Stuart Lewis' 90th minute equaliser, after breaking the deadlock thanks to a Grant Basey own goal. Notts County cut the gap on Carlisle to two points as goals from Damion Stewart, Jeff Hughes and Lloyd Sam sealed a 3-0 win away to struggling Leyton Orient. Exeter remain second-bottom and on the brink of relegation after being condemned to a 1-0 defeat by Scunthorpe at Glanford Park, with Jon Parkin netting the crucial goal. Jake Cassidy struck twice inside the opening 11 minutes at Prenton Park to set Tranmere on their way to a 3-0 victory that severely dents Stevenage's chances of breaking into the top six. Colchester played out a 1-1 draw with Hartlepool in a clash between two sides in mid-table as Antony Sweeney's opener was cancelled out by a late Freddie Sears penalty for the hosts.
