Boss: Bantams deserved win

Manager Phil Parkinson praised Bradford's battling qualities after they hit back to earn a 1-1 draw with League Two strugglers Hereford.

The match was buoyed by the division's highest crowd of the season (17,014). An attendance boosted by Bradford's special £1 a ticket offer, which saw the visitors restrict the home side to a handful of chances before taking the lead after 83 minutes through Byron Anthony's header. However, Bradford hit back well to equalise after 87 minutes through substitute David Syers. "The performance warranted three points. Chances were at a premium but the chances that came, came from us," said Parkinson. "We knew they would make it difficult for us with a 4-5-1 formation but we had the chances to be ahead whereas they had one chance and took it. We switched off for their goal and we have got to do better than that but the response was very good. "Credit to the lads after going 1-0 down, we kept going and we could have won it. I thought the crowd were tremendous. They knew we had gone behind against the run of play and they got behind us. "I knew it would be a tough game. Hereford are fighting for their lives and they have been doing well on their travels but I thought we played well and did enough to win a difficult game."
