Scunthorpe's captain Cliff Byrne has suffered a further setback after aggravating the back injury he sustained in January.
The defender was back in training and nearing a return to action, but Iron boss Alan Knill has now revealed that he expects his captain to be out for a little while longer.
"Cliff had a bit of a setback this week," Knill told Scunthorpe's official website.
"We have sent him for a test on his nerves, to ascertain whether or not they are all functioning properly.
"He has missed 10 months with an injury which at most should have been three or four.
"When a player has spent that amount of time missing you know that something is fundamentally wrong."
