Summer signing could miss four months due to injury

Scunthorpe United manager Alan Knill has confirmed Jordan Robertson broke his ankle in training on Thursday.

The summer signing from St Johnstone was a notable absentee from Saturday's 1-1 draw with Preston at Glanford Park.

After the match Knill confirmed the 23-year-old striker will now miss at least the next three months of the campaign.

However, the former Bury boss is backing the Sheffield-born marksman to bounce back from the untimely injury.

Bad news

"We had bad news in that Jordan has broken his ankle," Knill told the club's official website.

"He will be out for three-to-four months at least so we're all gutted for him.

"We all hope he has a speedy recovery.

"He was pretty distraught, but he is mentally strong and that's why I really like him.

"Knowing him, and his family as well, if anybody can come back, he can."
