Carlisle United have signed winger Andrew Welsh on a free transfer from Yeovil Town for next season.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at Huish Park this summer and has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Cumbrians. "We think this is a very good addition to the squad," manager Greg Abbott told the club's official website. "Andrew has proven quality and he is a player who can get forward and support the attacking play, as well as do the hard work in midfield." Welsh, who made 120 appearances in three seasons with Yeovil, added: "I'm delighted to have agreed the move and can't wait for pre-season training to start. "I really enjoyed my three years at Yeovil but I'm looking forward to the next chapter of my career at Carlisle."
