Skysports.com understands Bristol Rovers have rejected a bid from Scunthorpe United for Will Hoskins.
The striker has impressed for Rovers since joining the club on a free transfer from Watford over the summer.
He has scored 11 goals in all competitions for the Pirates and has been linked with a January move back to the Championship.
Scunthorpe are understood to have shown an interest in the 24-year-old and have seen their opening gambit turned down by Rovers.
Caretaker Rovers boss Darren Patterson admitted earlier this week that he expected Hoskins to attract interest following his form since moving to the Memorial Stadium.
However, Patterson is confident that Hoskins will remain focused on his football ahead of the New Year's Day game against MK Dons.
