Scunthorpe midfielder Jim Goodwin has committed his future to the Championship new boys by signing a new contract.

The 25-year-old has concurred on a two-year deal and will now remain at Glanford Park until the summer of 2009.

Since joining Scunthorpe in July 2005 on a free transfer from Stockport, Goodwin has established himself as a regular in the club's first team.

Last season saw Goodwin ruled out for the first part of the campaign with a head injury, but he later became a regular as Nigel Adkins' (pictured) side claimed the title.
