Sharp out for six weeks

Scunthorpe's Billy Sharp has been ruled out for six weeks with an ankle injury.

Scunthorpe United have been rocked by the news that they will be without star striker Billy Sharp for up to six weeks.

Sharp sustained ankle ligament damage during The Iron's clash with Swansea and is expected to be out until April at the earliest.

The 20-year-old has scored 20 goals this season to help keep United out of the relegation zone at the bottom of League One.

It was originally thought that the striker had broken his ankle, however X-rays have revealed that this is not the case.

Meanwhile, Scunthorpe are expected to have Andy Parton and Andy Keogh back for the weekend clash with Gillingham, with Keogh boosted by the news that he has been included in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their friendly with Sweden at the end of February.
