Two goals from Clyde Wijnhard helped Macclesfield beat Cambridge.Two goals from Clyde Wijnhard helped Macclesfield into the semi-finals of the LDV Vans Trophy.
Macclesfield are struggling at the wrong end of League Two, but they put their league woes to one side as they proved too strong for Conference outfit Cambridge.
Dutch forward Wijnhard opened the scoring with a header on 12 minutes, but The U's were level shortly afterwards through David Bridges.
Two goals in ten minutes before the break from Kevin Sandwith (pictured) and Wijnhard knocked the stuffing out of Cambridge.
Paul Atkins gave Cambridge hope with a goal on 47 minutes, but powerful Macclesfield marksman Jon Parkin took the game beyond Cambridge with an effort just after the hour.
Swansea moved into the Southern Area semi-finals, but needed extra time to see off Peterborough.
The game ended goalless after 90 minutes, but the floodgates opened in extra time.
Posh edged in front on 93 minutes through Danny Crow, but the goal sparked Swansea into action and a brace from Adebayo Akinfenwa and a strike from Andy Robinson helped the Welsh outfit progress.
The rearranged Northern Area second round tie between Halifax and Scunthorpe went the way of The Iron.
Brian Laws' men came out positively and Billy Sharp had them ahead on nine minutes.
Second half goals from Andrew Keogh and Tommy Johnson took the game beyond Halifax and rendered Matt Doughty's late strike nothing more than a consolation.
