It's tight at the top of League Two

DON SAYS: Chesterfield's Gary Roberts was voted League Two Player of the Year and he's been outstanding. He's scored 10 from the midfield area and created any number of other goals. He was excited by the challenge at Chesterfield and has reaped the rewards. Scunthorpe, meanwhile, are on an undefeated run of 21 games which is fantastic and has put them in a really good position to get promoted - but they've had 11 draws in that run and that's why they're in such a tight fight and not guaranteed automatic promotion. When you say somebody has gone 21 games unbeaten you'd think that they'd be streets ahead of the pack but they're not guaranteed. Don't take anything away from the effort and the achievement but I'm sure they'd swap a few of those draws for wins and lose one or two. At Rochdale Keith Hill is a manager I like very much and they, among the very top clubs, are in the best form in terms of points-per-game and the rest are a little bit hit-and-miss and are getting a few draws and the odd defeat here and there. That's making it very, very interesting.

Torquay and Northampton have seen their fortunes change quickly

DON SAYS: I covered Torquay a couple of seasons ago in the play-offs and they were a very good team playing good football. But out of nowhere, when you get yourself into a little bit of a rut on the pitch and results don't go your way, they've lost six of their eight games, picked up four points and it's looking ominously poor for them. I covered Northampton in the play-offs last season and they're second from bottom. It shows it can happen. But Northampton have found a little bit of form and are looking good and have brought a lot of clubs above them back into the fray. It remains to be seen if either of them can survive but there's a lot points till to be played for and one positive result would go a long way for the confidence. They've given themselves a mountain to climb though, there's no doubt about it. Click here to watch further video highlights from the Football League weekend.
