Team of the week
Mark Cousins - Colchester
Colchester kept a clean sheet in their 1-0 victory at home to high-flying Stevenage and Cousins cut a confident figure in goal. His starring moment came midway through the first half when he made a spectacular diving save to keep out a superb shot from Filipe Morais.
Shaleum Logan - Brentford
The defender worked tirelessly as Brentford drew 1-1 at Scunthorpe, holding things firm on the right of defence while also showing his prowess getting forward, and came close to finding the winner for the Bees.
Michael Hector - Shrewsbury
The Shrews enjoyed a 1-0 home win over Walsall, with Hector helping to keep things tight at the back. The defender was key to the hosts' clean sheet as he contributed some crucial clearances in an impressive display.
Tom Eastman - Colchester
Eastman also played a pivotal role as Colchester inflicted a first defeat of the season on Stevenage. The defender was a solid presence in the Us' backline as they kept their second clean sheet of the campaign.
Jordan Stewart - Notts County
The Magpies eased to a 4-0 victory at Carlisle to keep themselves in the promotion places and Stewart helped to keep the home side at bay while also providing the assist for Neal Bishop's goal, firing in a low cross which the midfielder touched in.
Nicky Adams - Crawley
Adams inspired Crawley's 3-2 victory at home to Bury, opening the scoring in the 43rd minute then stopping the visitors' apparent comeback cold when he notched a dramatic last-gasp winner with a cross-come-shot in the third minute of stoppage time.
James Wallace - Tranmere
Rovers slipped two goals behind at home to Yeovil Town in the first half but Wallace sparked their comeback when he pulled one back on the stroke of half-time. That strike put the gloss on an impressive display as the home side fought back for a 3-2 triumph.
Marc Pugh - Bournemouth
The Cherries got back to winning ways following the announcement of manager Eddie Howe's return this week and Pugh was a central figure to their 2-0 home win over Leyton Orient, adding the hosts' second goal.
Cristian Montano - Oldham
Sheffield United were denied a win when Oldham netted a 97th-minute equaliser at Bramall Lane to claim a share of the spoils. Ahead of that last-gasp leveller, Montano had proved a nuisance on the wing throughout the afternoon, keeping Tony McMahon busy.
David McGoldrick - Coventry
McGoldrick, on loan at Coventry from Nottingham Forest, scored two first-half goals as the Sky Blues took the upper hand at Swindon ahead of their comeback after the break. The striker was assisted by John Fleck for both strikes as he directed a free-kick home before scrambling in a deep corner.
Wes Thomas - Portsmouth
Thomas gave Pompey the brightest of starts in just the second minute at home to Crewe Alexandra with a quick opener, then helped the hosts wrap up the 2-0 win early on when he earned the penalty which strike partner Izale McLeod converted.
