Port Vale defender Adam Yates has signed a new one-year contract at Vale Park, the club have confirmed.

Yates, 32, has put pen to paper to extend his stay at Vale Park into a seventh season after joining the Valiants in 2009. "The club is delighted to have secured Adam's services for the new season," said Vale manager Rob Page. "He's an experienced and reliable member of the squad and has a real connection with the club which is always important." Yates made 28 appearances and scored once for Vale last season - that goal coming against Leyton Orient in a 3-0 home win. The full-back has played in 234 competitive games for the club so far.
