Port Vale goalkeeper Sam Johnson has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

Johnson was out of contract but has accepted Vale's offer of a new deal, putting pen to paper on Tuesday morning. The 22-year-old has made 26 first-team appearances for the club to date since making his debut in October 2012. "Sam is a very promising young goalkeeper and someone we were keen to keep," said Vale boss Rob Page. "So I'm pleased that he has signed the contract we have offered him and we're looking forward to working with him once again next season."
