Leyton Orient owner Francesco Becchetti wants to sell the club, Sky sources understand.
The Italian, who only bought the club for £4million last July, has made it known he will listen to offers following the club's relegation to League Two.
Sky Sports News HQ understands Becchetti, 48, will only deal with serious buyers who are willing to take on a sizable wage bill for a club that has now been demoted.
Becchetti bought a 90% stake from previous owner Barry Hearn last summer with the option to buy the stadium, which he has not taken up.
And the club is expected to fetch far less than the £4m he paid for it following an unsuccessful push for promotion to the Championship last season.
Orient finished second-bottom of League One after winning just 12 of their 46 games, nine points above bottom-club Yeovil Town.
