Karl Robinson insists MK Dons can do no more as they keep up the pressure on Preston in the race for automatic promotion.
The Milton Keynes manager saw his team remain on the coattails of the Lilywhites with a 3-0 home victory against Doncaster on Tuesday, on a night when the Lancashire club also won 3-1 at Notts County. It was a seventh win in a nine-match unbeaten run for the Dons but they remain a point behind Preston who themselves are in terrific form, having not lost for 17 league games. On Saturday, Robinson's men travel to play-off hopefuls Rochdale while North End play fourth-placed Swindon, who still harbour faint hopes of automatic promotion, at Deepdale. "I'd rather be where Preston are," said Robinson after the Doncaster win. "It's in their own hands. Everyone's headlines would be different. "But they have to look over their shoulders all the time now, and come off the pitch and see that we've won again. That in itself could motivate them, or create fear. "They're littered with quality, but we hope Swindon can perform the way we know they can. "We can only control our own fortune. To be on 85 points is sensational. Our league form has been incredible. It has been an amazing season. "We can't do any more than 91 points, and that will be unbelievable."
