Gillingham eye loan signings

Gillingham are on the hunt for a new left-back in the loan market following Joe Martin's injury.

Martin was forced off in the first half of the 3-0 loss at Chesterfield with a hamstring strain which is likely to keep him out of action for at least two weeks. With the hectic Easter fixture list just around the corner, Gills boss Justin Edinburgh is expected to be active in his search for Martin's replacement before the loan window closes. Speaking to the Kent Messenger about Martin's injury, Edinburgh said: "It is a blow and it's a bad thing on a disappointing evening. "We need to reflect on this disappointment first and then we will assess that. "With Joe being our only left-back at the club we will probably have to address it."
