Mowbray open to Coventry role

Former West Brom and Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray is intrigued about reviving managerless Coventry, according to reports.

The 51-year-old Yorkshireman would be open to exploring the possibility of succeeding Steven Pressley. The Scot was sacked by the Sky Blues on Monday after they slipped into the League One relegation zone. Mowbray is believed to be attracted by the size and history of Coventry - and the chance to help re-energise the struggling club - and is not necessarily put off by their position in the third tier. He has been out of work since leaving Middlesbrough in October 2013 and is ready for a return to management. Mobray worked in the West Midlands with West Brom, guiding them to the Championship title in 2008, before moving to Celtic in 2009. He joined Middlesbrough in 2010 but, despite being a hero as a player, could not get Boro promoted and left in 2013. The Sky Blues host MK Dons on Saturday and have put Dave Hockaday and Neil MacFarland in caretaker charge. Pressley was axed after exactly 100 games following a 2-2 draw at Sheffield United at the weekend.
