Jones set for Coventry switch

Preston goalkeeper Jamie Jones will join League One rivals Coventry on Friday morning for an initial 31-day loan.

Former Leyton Orient stopper Jones, 25, started the season as North End's number one but lost his place to Thorsten Stuckmann, who has seen been displaced by Manchester United loanee Sam Johnstone. Jones has not been on the bench for Preston's last two fixtures and has not started a game since mid-November. "We're delighted to be able to bring Jamie into the club," Sky Blues boss Steven Pressley told his club's official website. "Jamie has obtained some fantastic League One experience and was widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers at this level last season during Leyton Orient's impressive year." Jones is expected to complete the formalities on his move before the weekend and can extend his stay with Coventry up to 93 days.
