Taylor dismisses JPT distraction

Walsall defender Andy Taylor does not believe the club's Wembley dream has distracted them from their league challenge.

The Saddlers are in 15th place in League One as they chase their first Wembley appearance in 127 years. They face Preston in the second leg of their Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area final on January 27 with a 2-0 lead from the first leg, but were beaten 4-1 by Scunthorpe on Saturday to make it three defeats in their last five games. Taylor refused to blame their Trophy exploits for any struggles though. "As players, we just look to the next game because that's all you can affect," he told the Wolverhampton Express & Star. "So we'll concentrate on Colchester this Saturday and hopefully get things right there. Then, and only then, we'll concentrate on the game after that. "Because there is nothing that we can do now that will affect the game against Preston, so there is no point thinking about it. We just need to concentrate on the here and now."
