Karl Robinson is refusing to get carried away despite seeing MK Dons claim a thumping 7-0 victory over Oldham.

Will Grigg opened the scoring in the 17th minute and was joined on the scoresheet by Dean Bowditch just before half-time as the hosts heading into the break with a two-goal lead. And the men from Milton Keynes comfortably racked up an 11th league game unbeaten as Grigg, Darren Potter, Dele Alli, Benik Afobe and Carl Baker all netted in the second half. "I thought we were sensational," Robinson said. "The energy and the quality was excellent. "I thought Dean Bowditch in that first half was magnificent. He's been through a really difficult time and I think you could see from his celebration what it meant to him - he's been through a difficult time. "I really thought that that front four were unplayable. We missed a lot of chances, and I don't want to be disrespectful to the opposition, but were ruthless in every area of the pitch. "We've had a coaching session all week about ball rotation and the players are just sponges - they have an ability to absorb things and use everything in the right way. "We're only at Christmas and we still have not even played half of the games yet so we have an awful lot of work still to do here. "We are in a good position. We're not scrapping games 1-0, we're convincingly dominating games. "I'm so happy for our fans - they can certainly go and celebrate." Oldham manager Lee Johnson vowed to get his team back on track after the heavy loss. He said: "I think I am going to have to take this one on the chin, personally. "I'm very disappointed, obviously, and I'm very apologetic to everybody at the football club. But we have come up against a very, very good side who have exposed us, our flaws and our personality. "The biggest disappointment is that I never thought one of my sides would get beat 7-0. "I want to thank our fans because they have been fantastic and we have to close ranks now. "I just feel that given our league position that it is still possible to turn this around. "But you can trust me in that I will work non-stop as I do, all hours of everyday to try and put the last two games right. "I knew it would be difficult to come here and put on a performance after such a poor performance last weekend. "I tried to pick a team that I thought could be dangerous on the counter-attack and be a threat without pace, but it didn't work out like that."
