Chesterfield have banned for life a supporter who taunted Bradford fans online about the Valley Parade fire disaster.
The Spireites launched an immediate enquiry into offensive comments made on the Internet about the 1985 tragedy in which 56 people died after receiving complaints following Saturday's match between the two teams. Chief executive Chris Turner said: "We launched an immediate investigation into this matter after receiving a number of complaints from Bradford City fans who were understandably upset about the comments made by this person. "It is totally unacceptable behaviour which will not be tolerated by this club. Having identified the individual involved, the appropriate action has now been taken. "Furthermore, we will be referring this matter to the police, inviting them to investigate whether any criminal offences have been committed."
