Clough wants Wallace impression

Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough believes James Wallace can make a big impression when he returns from injury.

The 22-year-old midfielder has made 11 appearances for the Blades since joining in the summer, but has also suffered from muscular complaints and is currently sidelined. "James is probably another week or two away from returning to training," Clough told the club's official website. "We want to get him right for the second half of the season because he still has a big role to play for us from what we have seen in glimpses. "We have been very pleased and excited with what we have seen, but the key to James is getting him fit. "James is aggressive, we need that, he runs with the ball when he is at his best or, if we prefer, he can sit a bit deeper and pass the ball. "He is an excellent all-round midfielder when he is fully fit. I would say James would be in the top half of the Championship had he not suffered the serious knee injury at Tranmere Rovers."
