Mixed emotions for Robinson

Karl Robinson praised MK Dons' fighting spirit - which was embodied by Danny Green's late equaliser - in a 2-2 draw with Rochdale .

The Dons missed a host of chances which looked like costing them when Reuben Noble-Lazarus' stunning goal put the visitors ahead only for substitute Green to come to their rescue. The hosts moved to within five points of League One leaders Bristol City and Robinson said: "I'm frustrated because we've done enough to win the game. "Will Grigg was sensational first half, the best player on the pitch, and he caused problems all night but one or two players in the first half were not at the races. "I think in the first 20 minutes they haven't had a shot on goal and the second half their goal was the only shot they had. "I'm very pleased with the players - I thought the players conducted themselves wonderfully well and I thought the fans were excellent. "We may have lost that in years gone by when it wouldn't have gone quite our way but he hustled and we rolled our sleeves up. "We missed chances but we kept putting ourselves in positions to miss them, we didn't turn anything down. "We're the leading scorers in the league at home and we've kept nine clean sheets so that's a positive." Grigg put MK Dons in front with a beautifully-lofted finish after 19 minutes but their lead was immediately snuffed out by Tom Flanagan's own goal. Noble-Lazarus then looked to have snatched the points for Rochdale with a wonderful long-range strike. But Green tapped into an empty net for the Dons with five minutes left after Conrad Logan had denied Benik Afobe. Rochdale boss Keith Hill said: "I definitely would have accepted a point. "We're going through a phase of the season where we're picking up last-minute injuries. "We tried to appeal Matty Done's red card - it didn't get rescinded and I only found out about half past two, three o'clock. "Then we did a light training session and Matty Lund got injured. "It's really difficult and we're going through that testing time that is testing the squad of players and testing me as a manager but I'm really pleased to have come here and got something out of the game. "When we're 2-1 up going into the last five minutes of the game you could be a tad disappointed but I don't feel any disappointment whatsoever because of the stretch we're on at the minute. "I feel as though we'll come out of whatever's happening now stronger because there will be other younger players who will get their opportunities."
