Dickov blast for absent Quinn

Paul Dickov has called Paul Quinn "unprofessional" for failing to report for pre-season training for the second successive summer.

The defender was a notable absentee on Tuesday night as Rovers got their preparations for the 2014/15 League One campaign underway with a 2-0 win against Bradford Park Avenue. Dickov revealed Quinn has yet to report back, despite remaining under contract with Rovers. "Paul is contracted to the club," said Dickov following the friendly at the Horsfall Stadium. "For the second year running he's not turned up for training - which is disappointing and unprofessional from his point of view. "He does have a release clause in his contract which he activated but as we stand now he is still our player because he's not signed for any other club so he should be in for training. "It's disappointing, not just for myself but for the club. Paul has had a lot of help both personally and professional from the club. For it to happen for the second year running is unprofessional to say the least." Theo Robinson's strike and Grant Black's own goal, both coming in the second half, saw Doncaster triumph. Dickov fielded trialists Peter Clarke and James Bailey in the first half, while former Leeds and Atletico Madrid youngster Elliot Kebbie played on the wing after the break and Jon Otsemobor appeared at right back.
