Parkinson: Meredith return a boost

Phil Parkinson was grateful for the return of James Meredith in Bradford's defeat at Swindon following a three-month lay-off.

Australian left-back Meredith, who broke a bone in his foot during a training session in January, ended his spell on the sidelines when appearing as a half-time substitute for injured midfielder Nathan Doyle. "It was great for Mez just to be back out on the pitch," said Parkinson after his side's 1-0 defeat. "As I said on Friday, I wanted to give James some game-time between now and the end of the season. "I've put him on the bench here with the aim of probably giving him 20 minutes or so at the end, but he's played 45 minutes instead. "He's come through with no ill effects, which is clearly good for him. "It is definitely a positive for us to have Mez back." Parkinson has been without talisman forward James Hanson in recent weeks due to a troublesome back, while midfield pair Matty Dolan and Doyle are struggling with respective groin problems.
